Eric Renk, a self-taught artist, did his first real oil painting at the age of eleven (1964), using paint by numbers. He majored in art in high school and painted abstract impressionism. In 1978 Eric began painting wildlife. Working various large construction jobs and painting in his spare time, Eric committed himself to painting full time in 1988. After completing over 300 highly detailed wildlife paintings, he currently paints mostly contemporary scenes.
